Mandatory Jail Time For a Second DUI in California

16 July 2012

If you are facing your second DUI charge within 10 years of a previous DUI conviction, expect the penalties on a 2nd DUI conviction to be more harsh than what you received for your first DUI conviction.

A conviction for your second DUI includes mandatory jail time.  If convicted, you can be sentenced from 10 days to one year in jail on top of being placed on probation.  The fines will be just as expensive as your first DUI.  The DUI classes will be an 18-month program instead of the 3-month program.

Every DUI case is different and you may have affirmative defenses to get your case dismissed or to be found not guilty.

If you were arrested for your 2ND DUI, call the Law Offices of Nam Q. Doan | OC Legal Defense today at (714)248-DOAN(3626).  I can fight to keep you out of jail and get your case dismissed.  For more information, visit www.OCLegalDefense.com and read the 2nd DUI section.
